WE LOVE LOCAL CREATIVES

SHOP FREO x SHOP LOCAL

My shop, Vintage Space, is located within the MANY PROJECTS shop space, Many 0.2. This is their curated independent retail space project.

MANY PROJECTS utilize empty spaces, activating dead space with vibrant creative people.

MANY 2.0 (Retail) 52 Adelaide Street, Fremantle

MANY Triple Zero (small studios) Old Police Barracks, 45 Henderson Street, Fremantle

MANY North Freo (makers, light industry) Matilda Bay Brewery, Stirling Highway

So in true bespoke style, we had this hand painted signage created on our outer wall.

We love local creatives.

safari soiree

It's all, well the majority of the time all fun and games in the shop space.

vintage space

We have a men's 1970's safari two piece suit for hire.

The mid century island painting is the original not a print and would make a perfect addition to a tiki inspired home.

The 1960s faux fur leopard go go dress is for sale but only if I like you because I have a secret crush on it!

Unfortunately the pith helmet sold to what I thought was a nice old man who turned out to be a closed minded racist after he had paid and had the hat in a his possession.

on the box

A television cameo appearance of our groovy vintage threads at MANY 6160. Plus you get to see where Vintage Space resides, within a hub of creatives.

The channel seven crew arrived to the whole building having been evacuated. Sirens were blaring, loud speakers repeated calm messages of an impending doom, firemen filed inside. Not sure why that was not shown.

get your vintage on

A last minute banner design for my facebook event page. Time to get my vintage market hat on and decide what is coming to this huge,  300+ stallholder fair.

Ugly 1980's/90's  jumpers and shirts are all the rage here in little, young Perth. Either way,  there will be plenty of vintage variety to please the young,  the old and the immortal souls of my hometown.

A flyer with real information about the event!  Check out the Polka Dot Vintage Market Perth facebook page for details!

vintage wall art

Living with someone that has different aesthetics to you can be frustrating for both parties involved. As a vintage dealer, I often have to pass on treasures that I would prefer to keep. Typically vintage furniture and wall art are the topic of such discussions.

1984 Burwood Plastic birds USA

These captive bluebirds are not allowed to fly on our walls. Maybe, one day they will be free.

mid century kitsch tiki plastic panther relief

This kitsch panther adorned our wall for a few months before it had to find another home.

mid century copper abstract relief

I found this mid century copper relief yesterday but promised I would sell it on! I guess the positive aspect is that my walls are an ever changing canvas.

Maybe, I Don't Want To Dance

Photobomb fun with Tony Manero (John Travolta).

The photograph is a still, taken from the  movie Saturday Night Fever, 1977.

John Travolta's solo dance, disco madness,  performance to 'You Should Be Dancing', by the Bee Gees.

I do seem to find too much time to play, now back to some serious work!

Polka Dot Vintage Fair

It is that time of year, once again. The Claremont Showgrounds, three in one vintage, craft and antique markets.

Vintage Space will be sharing a stall with the our good friends, Vintage Chloe.  Which will involve sore cheeks due to excessive laughter.  We do seem to have too much fun.

Hope to see you there

Think Again

An amusing reflection of 1970's tobacco advertising, care of the Stanford School of Medicine.

angry man advertising

Angry Man, 1975. Okay, you smoke. I had no plans to ask why you choose to do so. Oh yeah, while we are on the subject, I don't want to know why you smoke Winston Longs either.

1972, feminist ideal?!  "You've come a long way baby."

The lady looks so proud that these cigarettes were designed for her slimline design!

The Vintage Collective Markets.

The Vintage Collective Markets

The weather was overcast, rain cascaded from the heavens and the wind blew. Overlooking the fact, that spending time at an outdoor vintage market may not be a good idea. My friend and I braved nature's beauty and were very that pleased we did.

Situated within the grounds of the Oakover Winery in Middle Swan, The Vintage Collective Markets had entertainment, food and vintage treasures.

A few treasures were purchased by the lovely Tony from Vintage Chloe and myself.

I scored this fabulous vintage concave star shaped mirror for $30 from a lovely lady at the fair.

I do love abstract patterned bark cloth fabric, and needed new cushion covers. So two boxes were ticked with these three vintage cushion covers. This period of vintage barkcloth textile design is getting harder to find within the local second hand stores.

I do recommend that you check out The Vintage Collective Market's page for their scheduled upcoming events. That is if you live in Perth, Western Australia I guess!

2015 Design

We,at Vintage Space headquarters, are very pleased with our 2015, flyer and swing tag design.

Designed by myself, Bernadette. Printed by Clone Army Print.

Specifically designed for our new shop space at MANY 6160. The swing tags are made from reclaimed card that was ready for the dumpster.

The girl archer image was taken from an American 1940's calendar, 'Miss December'. I thought it apt to use her as I, myself am a Sagittarian. My legs are not as long and as sexy as Miss December's though!
