1968 Olympics Uniform

I found this photo of a very groovy uniform designed for the 1968 Olympic games!

The original caption states - "Sally Welford models one of the cape uniforms that will be worn by the guides during the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City. Designed by Irma Dubost and Julie Murdoch, the outfit is done in a red and white cotton designed with the logotype "Mexico 68."

1960s Mod Fishnet Stockings

I had to share this treasure I have for sale at present.

A collection of brand new American 1960s fishnets still in their original packaging.

So in love with the colours - Yellow Sting, Sweetheart Pink and Florida Orange. The back states they are perfect for casual wear, SPORT, campus and townwear. These are the stockings you wear with suspenders!

I do not have the heart to open and wear them, so here they are available for sale. A bargain at $20 each. Simply pick your colour Xx

The Scribble Diary

Love this new diary.

Created by Lisa Currie, an illustrator
who has fun encouraging people to collaborate and self-express through doodling.
Basically a 365 sketch-friendly journal that prompts you to express whatever it is on your mind in a visual form rather than with straight lines and words.

Inside the Scribble Diary

This page reminds me of doodling patterns on my school paper whilst listening to the teacher in high school. I am sure it opened my mind to higher learning! Well anyway, it made me relax and enjoy the class. This diary is on my wish list for sure.

B.V.D Malibu Swimsuit 1932

Okay, it is the middle of winter for us at the moment and I purchased a pair of bathers (swimsuit)!

How could I resist? The swimsuit was titled "60's knit bikini swimsuit"

The reality is the swimsuit is a surf suit circa 1932, style  'Malibu', label B.V.D. A knit brassiere top with separate trunks. In a cherry red colour with white accents. Wow!

1934 BVD Swimsuit Advertisement

B.V.D, was established in 1876 and located in the Empire States building, New York. A manufacturer and seller of underwear for men and women in Canada as well. In 1929 Olympic swimmer Johnny Weissmuller was hired to model and represent the company at swimshows throughout the country wearing their swimwear.

I didn't realise how sweet the 1930s swimwear was. The knitted fabric is really thick and supportive. Maybe a tad itchy! I am so glad when my vintage knowledge pays off with a bargain such us this.
